Hybride GPS/Galileo receiver: simulation and robutness analysis with FADP filter

Résumé traduit

Within the framework of this work, we made a very first study on the design of hybrid architecture for the GPS/Galileo receiver and one of the first analysis of the robustness potential of the receiver in ajamming environment.

The research results shown that the design of the receiver in question is preferable in E2-Ll-El band where two systems use the same carrier frequency and where we find C/A and BOC(2,2) civil signals. Moreover, it was noted that in this band, it is possible to adapt the conventional architectures used in the case of the GPS to the treatment of the BOC(2,2) signal by slightly modifying the receiver architecture.

To achieve the analysis, a digital GPS/Galileo communication channel was simulated in Matlab/Simulink using the fundamental concepts of pseudo-random signals treatment for the GPS.FADP (Amplitude Domain Processing in Frequency Field) filter was then added in order to study its contribution to the robustness improvement of the whole hybrid receiver in the presence of the multiple jammers.

The simulation results shown that the treatment of the new BOC(2,2) signal is possible with no significant changes of conventional DLL (Delay Locked Loop ). The coherent treatment of the new BOC(2,2) signal is possible without increasing as much the number of the correlators compared to C/A signal and without 1osing precision. 0n the other hand, it was also shown that in the case of the non- coherent treatment in DLL, the BOC(2,2) signal requires at lest two additional correlators. The robustness analysis of the hybrid receiver showed that its threshold of stability is better than 6.1 dB in DLL and to 3 dB in PLL (Phase Locked Loop). FADP filter ensures an important improvement of the signal to noise ratio, which, in the case of ten CWI (Carrier Wave Interference)jammers can reach 27 dB.

The results of this work as the acquired expertise are currently used for real time implementation of the receiver by using SDN (Software Defined Navigator) concept.
